Game One of the regular season and Destroyers win 42-14! Ummm, yeah, that's more points than we scored the entire season last year. The boys looked really good and it was nice to see some offense! Defense wasn't too shabby either. Josh had a pretty good game...a couple decent runs and some good tackles on defense. Next week...Hamburg!

Coach John asked after the game "Who had fun today?"...I think we ALL did :-)

Airlanes Day

Here we go again...time to switch gears and get ready for some FOOTBALL!!!

Last Saturday was Airlanes Day for the Destroyers...their version of "pre-season". The Saturday League plays the Sunday League and they get to try out all the new moves they've been practicing. Josh did pretty good...he's still the quarterback and ran it in for a couple of the extra points. Final score was 27-27.

Josh with the hand off...

They have one more scrimmage on Thursday and the regular season starts Saturday against Lancaster. Let's go DESTROYERS!!!

The Proof!

I have had my poor mother looking for this photo for ages! Ever since Josh started playing hockey I wanted to show him that his Mom did actually play :) There is little evidence since I only played one year, and I missed the team photo. I remember the photographer coming special during a practice to make sure my photo was taken (probably why I'm all sweaty!) Thanks Mom...I'm sooo glad you found it!

Lewiston-Porter Runner-Ups

After being rained out last weekend, the Southline 8U Boys finally got to play the Championship game last Saturday against Lancaster. They got off to a rough start and after the top of the 1st they were already down 5 runs. The boys battled back the entire game, but ran out of innings in the end. 16-14 was the final score. It was a bittersweet end to a really successful and enjoyable tournament season. 9-3-1 was their final record after 3 tournaments...recording a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall.
